A group of proud Canadians came together in Saint John, New Brunswick in 1995 because they had a dream to celebrate Canada’s achievements, rich heritage, and diverse geography. Wholeheartedly agreeing with the United Nations that Canada is the best place in the world to live, they also realized the immense size of our country limits the opportunity many Canadians and international visitors have to visit Canada in its entirety.
Visit Canada Visitez wil allow visitors to symbolically walk across Canada. The 1.5 km walking trail will feature a site for each province and territory, a national site, as well as one honouring the veterans and peacekeeping/peacemaking forces.
Canada’s Aboriginal people will be showcased on the trail’s Eastern Entrance and the Western Entrance highlights Saint John, New Brunswick as the first incorporated city in Canada and the trail’s host city. This project celebrates our national unity and reflects the values, culture, and heritage of our great country. |
